Eagle on globe
Tattoos on the naked skin of humans have existed for thousands of years in various forms.
But the tattoo as we know it today sprung out of the adventurs on the seven seas by captain James Cook in the mid 17-century. Suddenly the tattoo wasn’t a local and static ritual but an evolving art form across the oceans. Reflecting the dangerous life on the sea and the longing for home tattoos turned into symbols of hope, fear, faith and love.
